This beautiful and historical place in Switzerland is located in the north central of Switzerland. While Lausanne is the French-speaking city, Lucern is the German-speaking city of Switzerland.
In just 4 min walking from the train station, you will see the most famous landmark of Lucerne, which is the Chapel Bridge. It is a wooden covered bridge that span across Reuss river.
It was build in 14th century and contain a beautiful paintings on the ceiling of the bridge.
Although many of the paintings were destroyed during fire in 1993, you still can see some paintings there.
Other interesting landmarks is the Lion Monument. The monument was hewn out of natural rock to memorize the heroic of Swiss mercenaries. Sorry folks, I could not capture the lion, it was too dark out there….
There I were, going around in the dark with 2 brave girls exploring the city.
Short visit, but would love to come back to enjoy the day in Lucerne. Are you ready girls????
